Dr. Lisa Apple, DPT
Welcome to Revitalize Movement Physical Therapy Studio where Dr. Lisa Apple offers the philosophy of treating the whole person, not just the diagnosis. She is thrilled to share the philosophy of functional and three-dimensional movement with those interested in whole-body health. Lisa believes a collaborative relationship with her patients is key in facilitating recovery from injury. Her experience and expertise are in orthopedic and sports injuries, dance injuries, chronic pain, and Schroth scoliosis assessment and treatment.
She lived in the Seattle area from 1993 until 2012. Lisa originally created and operated Revitalize Movement Physical therapy while living in North Carolina. Upon returning to the Pacific Northwest in 2015, she re-built her business in Snoqualmie, WA. Lisa has worked as an outpatient orthopedic physical therapist for Seattle Children’s hospital. She helped to establish a physical therapy conservative Scoliosis program. This program addresses the asymmetry of the spine, reduces the risk of progression, and utilizes the muscles to balance posture and breathing.
Lisa has developed a dancer injury prevention screening and utilizes this to help dancers learn more about how to take care of their bodies as they progress in their ballet and dance technique. She is certified in Three Dimensional Scoliosis treatment according to the Principles of Schroth through the Barcelona Scoliosis Physical Therapy School. Additionally, she is certified in Pilates through Body Arts and Science International and utilizes this often in her physical therapy interventions.
Dr. Lisa Apple earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Washington and her Bachelors of Science degree in Health Psychology at Bastyr University. She became inspired to become a physical therapist during her fifteen-year career as a professional ballet dancer. As a professional dancer, Lisa performed in over 150 performances a year with San Francisco Ballet, Ballets Des Monte Carlo, and as a principal dancer with Pacific Northwest Ballet.
Lisa is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association. She is certified in 3 Dimensional treatment of Scoliosis (BSPTS) according to the Schroth Method, Pilates with a dance emphasis (BASI), Gary Grey Chain Reaction, NAOIMT Level I, and Institute of Physical Art: Back Education. She has also taken extensive continuing education on the peripheral joints and spine and understands that injuries affect more than just the physical aspect of a person’s life and wellbeing. She holds her Washington and North Carolina Physical Therapist licenses. Outside of work Lisa enjoys, Dance, Pilates, and Yoga reading, and spending time with family. She is excited for you to discover Revitalize Movement Physical Therapy Studio.
